Pick it up if you can. Continuums are a rare bird. Good find, btw.

Actually the seller found me ! hahah

He is telling me that Brand new these amps were $3000 ? He wants $850 for the amp... Good deal ?

I will test it to make sure it works first.

I've heard 'stories' of these amps selling for far more than even $3000. But like I said....stories. Gotta find some awfully gullible guy for that.

what are the specs of this amp ? what makes it so good ?

any info would be appreciated.

Yeah, I heard about reliability problems with some of those lines, like Rubicon and Reference. I'm not all up on SS, except their highest end stuff. The Continuum shouldn't really give you much trouble though. If I had it, I wouldn't worry entirely...they're not that hard to find parts for if the internals/transistors bust. And the local dealer that does SS is a good guy. :D

Thats a beautiful amp, they sure don't make them like that anymore. Stay away from SS's newer line of products, and their older rubicon amplifiers. They seem to be plagued with problems. The reference series of amps were great IMO.

I owned a pair of rubicon lil'wonders. I really liked them. One of them developed a nasty thermal issue when bridged @4ohm unfortunately, but that was after about three years of use.

I'm sorry to let you know...a good friend of mine had one of those amps and he had nothing but problems...it blew up twice, it was professionally installed by the dealer to specs for load. He sold it and never looked back.

I am not eager to buy the amp.... not even for $800...the guy told me he had teh board replaced on it...

(there's a reason why he is selling it)
