i need a new battery and i've narrowed it down to an optima red top or an orbital extreme. both have similar ratings and price, but can anybody tell me if one is better than the other?

orbital extreme I would go with the orbital extreme. i have talked to a couple people who have used the red top and they really didnt like it that much. But if you can get your hands on a yellow top for a good price get that.

Well, your choosing between a sandwhich, and meat between two pieces of bread. Either or will be good.

Negligable differences between the two, IMO.

I had a red-top back when they first came out (1993). Had zero problems with it, and this was in Saskatchewan with no garage to park my car in the winter along with a wimpy 70 amp alternator on my 800 watt (hey, it was a lot back then) system.
