Orion HCCA 12" or Kicker L7 12"
The HCCA is a very good sounding driver that can get quite loud.
The L7 has more potential on the mic (with 800rms) for all out SPL but IMO is not up to the HCCA in SQ.
For a good daily sub I would opt for the HCCA.

well being that the HCCA is a discontinued sub now you should be able to get it fairly cheap... Ive had one a few years ago and did a 145 with a single 12 and 1500 watts in my teg....
L7 is a superb driver, ive also owned quite a few of them and they are very loud with moderate power.... the L7 is no slum it sounds decent in the right box....
I loved my hcca it was a beast of a driver.... the L7's are cool subs. I say which ever one floats yah boat..
