outer edge of speaker broken
#1
on one of my 10" blaupunkt overdrives has destroyed the thin layer of material? is this bad? does it allow air to escape because I can see around the speaker now, should I take it back to where I bought and see what they say. I bet its from the cold weather, cold weather makes just about anything break. It makes a vibrating noise that can only be heard when actualy looking at speaker from the trunk under high power. It still pounds like a **** which is good to me. I don't think these speakers are made anymore so getting another under warrenty could be iffy.

When you say the 'outter edge' of the speaker, are you talking about the foam/rubber surround? It will probably still work, although the problem will certainly get worse, especially if it is already torn. If it gets worse, more air will begin to escape the box, and you'll start to loose output. Not sure if something like that could be repaired, but I would not leave it the way it is.

Its been at least 5 months since I installed it and there is a grill over the speaker. Most of the rubber is gone and lord knows how long its been like that since I don't very often check out the subs visually while their going.
