Panasonic ipod connect

Hello,

I am new here and I have a few questions for you guys. I have a Panasonic CQ-C1300U deck and I was wondering the ways of connecting my iPod to it? the deck was made in 2004 if it helps, and does have the CD changer controls. Today, i tried connecting my ipod to it using the cd changer RCA cables, and the deck didn't recognize the ipod. I also tried connecting to the pre-amp outputs, which worked, but the rest of the deck did not work correctly: the radio would only work with the rear speakers, and there was no volume control on the deck with the ipod.

Is it possible to do this, or am i better to get a new deck?

thanks

Greg

I recalled reading this elsewhere as well, in 05' the pana decks were all ipod ready with a module(ipod control) however the other way to add it is through the CD Aux Inputs on that deck! (should be labelled aux in) if not, maybe upgrading your cd player to a newer one would be easiest(the module from Panasonic charges and allows control on the deck like alpine's decks)

DONT UPGRADE.. I have a 2005 pana cq-c9701u deck.. and its not ipod ready, and I have my ipod running well with this deck through the Cd-changer Port.

I bought this module for 50 $ at futureshop, called Ice-link, and there was one for the pana deck and every other type of deck .. It has an ipod connector, which lets you control the ipod through your decks control, including the remote !.. And it also has a whole bunch of features, like recharging your ipod, etc. Anyways, Their is a way, I dont know if they still sell it. But its worth a look. ebay could be your next stop as a last resort.

Here's the item on ebay : ( same as I bought, but for 50 $ at futureshop)

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Dension-Ice-Link-Plus-iPod-Adapter-For-Panasonic-Radio_W0QQitemZ230179828465QQihZ013QQcategoryZ5835 0QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Anyways, It works, might not display Id3 tags, It doesnt on mine, and I contacted them, and they said the project was done and no more updates for it, so I guess were stuck without it. but its still the cheapest way of going total ipod with controls from your deck..

if your wondering how it works, It has 2 rca's that you would connect to aux-in and one module that connects to the Cd-changer out connector on the deck. then when you switch to cd-changer on your deck, it will connect to the ipod and then you just use your normal controls.. its nice.
