patch cable grounding

patch cable grounding

seen some old school cables with a 3rd ground wire (on a y style spade) that gets screwed onto the chassis of a HU or amp etc are these helpful at all?

its an extra protection against noise. if its in the rca that a bonus in my eyes.

i ground my headunit to bare metal.. but like said above, its like an 'extra' ground
