What about raammat? Compared to the other butyl products it's cheap, and it's not a ton more than most of the asphalt materials.

I just did my whole floor, rear deck, trunk, b & c pillars, as far up the firewall I could, front doors with Hushmat, and everything there except trunk and front doors in ensolite foam. I really think if you're looking at lowering noise transfer in and out of the car you have to consider the foam even before deadening. I still have to do foam/hushmat in the rear doors, and foam in the fronts, but my car has gotten so much quieter it's amazing. I drive a Buick, so it's already pretty quiet in the first place compared to a lot of cars, it was a tomb compared to my girlfriend's Mazda 3. But, I would guess I lowered ambiant noise at speed by 10-12 Db or more over that with the deadening... a nice listening level used to be volume 16/35, and now 8/35 seems just about as loud.

hello folks, just tried a little bit of that redzone stuff in my trunk (just the door part, the trunk floor has undercoating) and i noticed road noise coming thru trunk is almost gone. B4 undercoating and redzone, roadnoise from trunk is very apparent and i was getting annoyed (cheap civic ) plus rattle from trunk is non-existent.
I bought the 18"x50 feet for $50 at Rona and by the looks of it i can line my 4 doors with this stuff and have spare to finish off trunk. Then i will give another review of this amazing stuff, lol. I applied it at an ambient temp of around 10C thats why i only finished the trunk door cuz it got colder and i was worried it would not stick properly. BTW i degresead and then wiped trunk door with alcohol and it sticks like a horny octopus. I dont think it will peel off at high temps (prepping surface must be key)

has anyone tried using expanding foam sealant or 2-part foam to seal vibrations? Maybe for a/b pillars?
