This guy claims that these have been ran side by side to W7's and kicked their *** in every test! Now what I want to know is who compared them and what kind of test was it?
No certified and verified test has ever been run to compare the two, not that I know of. This is kind of a sneaky way to sell something if you ask me.

How do you get a 2 ohm wiring option from dual 2ohm coils?

The brahma is a VERY good woofer. Not better than the W7 but is VERY comparable. Yes the W7 will outpreform the brahma but the price difference is the kicker. This subs is included in the new breed of "super woofers" that are capable of taking tonnes of power and produce teeth grinding SPL while staying linear thoughout XMAX.

Wow does that sound like a shameless plug.

According to most people experienced with both the Brahma 12 and the 12W7, the Brahma will be pretty competitive with the W7 until the Brahma starts to run into noticable power compression (I forget the exact number, but I think it's 800-1000 watts), then the 12W7 starts to really pull away ...

It's not really about the Brahma or the W7 being better. That is debateable and has many variables. It's about the fact that the guy is straight out telling people the Brahma beat the W7 in actual tests. I just don't like the way he's marketing it was kinda bothering me.
I feel better now that I bitched about it.

i've never used one in my life but i've spoken to an acoustical engineer friend of mine who swears by them. he builds folded horns for them all the time. he had suggested to me that i should use them. he had explained to me that the are built sturdy enough to withstand the high back pressure created by folded horns and has enough travel to make it very loud in that type of enclosure. now these were his reasons, that i felt you might want to know. i really had never heard of them until he told me about them.

Guys, have you ever taken any audio magazine and really read the adds? It's always amazing to see what is printed and how the truth is stretched to the extreme limits - knowing that we - the readers - are going to glance over and never really think about the logic of what we are "reading". It's called marketing and sometimes it reaches gray area. Critical thinking and reading is something we don't do much anymore.
