Well as I am sure you know the hours spent on an install like this and the Mazda you are doing are kinda hard to figure out forsure, but we figured it was about 150 hours or so. Now keeping in mind we sand the parts down to 240 grit before primer, then prime them ourselves, and then go to 800 grit wet sanding before it goes out to paint. Pretty much all the painter has to do is seal it then paint it. This project took a little longer to paint then expected. The painter had trouble matching the paint exactly to the exterior paint. The paint is Lambourghini Monterey blue and is produced only by PPG House of colours and is in actaulity 11 coats and 4 different colours layered over top of one another.
This car also has motorization for the amp rack which unfortunatley did not get installed because of a lack of time for assembly. Basically we had only 36 hours to assemble and wire everything so the car could head to Chicago for the Hot Import nights show which starts on Friday.
When the car comes back we will finish that up, and maybe a few more things will get done over the winter months.... cough "dash" cough cough "door panels" cough cough.
I will have the pics of the way it looks right now posted in a few hours I hope.
