Performance Auto & Sound ads

well our contract date is coming up at the end of the year... we've had at least a page running in every issue so far this year... not sure if the benefits justify the mid 20s spent...

did PAS work out for any of you guys?

if not whats hot out there right now?

I have been getting a lot of calls from dealers in the US in comparison from last year. Shane’s been great, Jason was good too but he’s not there any longer.
Some things I haven’t been overly impressed with but there’s a lot more I could be doing to make there job easier as well.

as a consumer, that rag is so full of ads that I just ignore them all

Not trying to start anything, especially since I used to have the same car as you (lol) but if you're a consumer, how come you can see this forum?

...makes me want to reconsider what I say in here...

All of the mods/admins have access to this section

That’s Industry members people stopped posting info in here.

Ssmaster, thanks for the info I totally agree I have been pretty much getting the same feedback.. Dealers are to busy to read the rag, very few have waiting rooms so it ends up in the crapper.

They've been terrific about support and leeway for ad deadlines... what I'm trying to say I guess is that there are no personal conflicts with anyone at PAS, it's just the feedback from the ads that is lacking...

I've been looking at a lot of Primedia mags as they offer huge discounts, but they could not give me any info on readership in Canada...

Which magazines do you prefer that have less ad content and are automotive related?

Sassmaster 10-19-2006 11:15 AM

The only one I usually read is "car audio and electronics" because that's all that I'm interested in is car audio. I'm sure there's others out there, but I can't get them here

Ya there is none to speak of, they keep chocking it up to our goverment giving PasMag huge discounts while there costs keep rising, Discounts on adds? first I've heard from them there prices use to be 2X's what pasmag was for the same space. Now that PasMag is deep in the USA and cover so many different aspects they really are the rag to advertise with. People pick it up for different aspects I don't care which just so long as there reading it.
Last primedia add folder I have costs for a full page was:
10,365 USD for one add and if you were in all 7 it dropped to 7,705( 49,000 USD?)
That was for Car audio and Electronics.

I'd rather throw that money at the dealers, at least they are a selling my product and supporting the consumer that buys our brand.
