looks to me that it is 2 ohm. and that it says so on the web site. and i know for sure that it is not on any lit. im pretty sure that phoenix gold wouldn't say its 1 ohm stable. can i assume that you got that info from someone at the store level.
to my knowledge there have only been 2 series with 1 ohm stable. the xenon and the zpa series from a few years back.
if you go by the ILS rating im sure it'll do 1/4 ohm stable......for about 1 millionth of a second before it goes.

I ran a ZX350 and ZX500 at 1 ohm 6 hours a day every day in one of my earlier cars for a 3 or 4 months. The 350 never shut down and the 500 only shut down once from overheating, but it was 34C out.
Have no idea about the Octanes though.
