The Concepts on Wheels show had some pictures of it I believe. You'll have to find them somewhere on the site.

What are the pros and cons of mounting subs this way? (like in the above pic)

pros: if you like the back of the sub...you can see it.
cons:sub box will take up more space due to odd dimensions.

Does the sound quality change when this done on a sealed box? Or how about ported or both facing reversed? I've never tried it.

yes , it's supposed to get better with 1 sub inverted , let me remember and I'll post again when I do .

The only sound diffrence will come from the added internal volume of the box from not having the magnets in it. In a ported enclosure this will result in a lower tuning frequency, and in a sealed box a lower Qtc or flatter response curve. I have also heard that at very high volumes the voice-coil vent could whistle, but this could just be a rumor, and if it is in a trunk you shouldn't have to worry bout it. Just make sure you have the subs in phase.

u get alot more box space when you mount them inverted and when u get more box space that means the louder it is so unless ur box is made perfect righ size to ur subs inverting them will make them louder
