Does anyone know if the Avic N2 brain will work with an N1? i assume it will not but i need a brain for an N1

doubtful they have made some serious changes to the brain box. pm pioneer guy he might be able to shed somemore light for you.

 

It is my understanding that it will work. The upgrades from the AVIC-N1 to the AVIC-N2 were mainly software so that the AVIC-N2 will work with the XM NavTraffic unit.
The other change would be the added security in the AVIC-N2 to not allow front seat video playback.
If it were me, I would perhaps try to source an AVIC-N1 brain before I "mixed & matched" as I'm just speculating here that it would work.
