Talking

Today finally after waiting 3 months (ordered Jan 6) I received my new deck. Why it took so long I have no idea, but it was worth the wait.

This thing has functions falling out it's a$$. It even has a mic that connects to the deck and automatically adjusts time alignment, and eq. Did I mention 6.5 volt pre-outs. also has a awsome looking el organic color display.

I don't think this deck is even avaliable in Canada but I have one now. Maybe Pioneer Guy can answer that for me, he would know.

is that the premier version ?????
We've had the pioneer 9600mp for quite some time at FS and BB I think there are few subtle differences preout voltage being one. I've got the 9400mp same deck just a few years older but same features and such Probably the best decks out in my opinion!!!

Hey Murry, ya it is the Premier. Model # DEH-P960MP, not the 9600. I looked around Calgary before buying this and found nothing. Of course I didn't know you then so I didn't know who the right man to talk to was...hahaha

How do you like it (impressions)/ what would you compare it to?

Give me few days to play with it and figure some things out and I can give you good answer. But first impressions are so far so good. It actully has 2 modes, a 3-way network mode(all the complecated adjustment are up to you), and a standard mode( which is a little more straight forward). But I think the mic thing is pretty cool, and takes care of a lot of the fine tuning.

As for comparing it to something I have no idea. Never had anything this high end before, but I am a Pioneer fan, so.....

Yep, and the Alpine has that feature as well. Who knows what other manufacturer is going this route (auto mic adjustment). With my Alpine unit, I think I'll go with manual first, put that into one of the six available presets and then compare it to the automated-from-the-microphone method. Now, can you manually fine tune it once the automated settings are made?

I think you can play with a few of the other adjustments after the settingsare made. Things like your sub control, but not stuff like the eq or high pass filters.

The Auto-EQ does a pretty decent job of setting a reference point for you.
From there you can tweak it to your custom tastes.
Same for the Auto-TA.

Enjoy
