Planninig System - What do you think?

So I'm currently in the process of upgrading my factory crap in my Dodge Ram (2005 quad cab). So far this is what I've got:

Alpine INA-W900
JL Audio 13TW5 in custom center console box
JL Audio 500/1 Black Slash Amp

I just have the headunit installed, I am in the process of finishing up the sub box and will be starting work on an amp rack behind the rear seats shortly. Here's what I want to add to fill out the sound in the high end.

JL Audio Evolution C2350x 3.5" coaxials in the dash
JL Audio Evolution C2650 6.5" components in the front doors and
JL Audio 6W3v3's 6.5" subs in the rear doors for midbass (~60Hz-200Hz)
all driven by a JL Audio 500/5 Slash series amp (C2650 powered off of "front" channel (100Wx2) sourced by front output, C2350x powered off of "rear" channel (25Wx2) sourced by front output, 6w3v3's powered off of "subwoofer" channel, sourced by rear or sub output).

I'm looking for feedback if this will sound good or not. I like to listen loud, but I enjoy high quality.

Mid-bass in the rear doors ?!??!?!?! Gaaaah. Personally, don't like that idea. Sounds like someone wanted to sell you a whole pile of JL Audio for you to stuff in every hole in the truck.

What are you trying to achieve ? You just want it to get loud (?) with components and co-axials in the front. Is this your truck ?

Lol. With that response I'm not sure what to think lol. I only have the 13tw5 and the 500/1. I'm still trying to decide on the rest(hence my reason for the post). Yes it's my truck and as for the brand, I've always liked JL Audio. I want something that I can turn up loud that will sound amazing at every sound level and every frequency range. What would you recommend that I change?

Take all the money from the 6w3s and the 3.5"s and get a set of the C5 components for the front.

You'll be happy you did.

to elaberate a bit the 3.5"s won't really help any part of that system other than bringing the soundstage up. For the 6W3s, there's no point in having mid bass back there that you'll get from the front with the 6.5"s.

Components and co-axials conflict with each other and perform the same duty. Only reason people do that is to get louder.............. or from a sales guys perspective, to sell more crap.

Mid-bass in the rear is a waste of your money. You want that up-front and you'll get that with a good set of 6.5".

Not 100% familiar with your truck, but can you go 3-way up front........... midbass in the doors, mid in the the dash location and get your tweeter in there somewhere, preferably on the a-pillar. Don't even bother putting anything in the rear locations. Put your money up front. If you can somehow squeeze a 4" into that dash location for mids, that would be awesome.

I think I'm understanding this a bit better now. The factory setup has 6x9's in the front doors currently and that's where I was going to put the 6.5"s, I was going to put the tweeters in the "sail panels" in the upper corner of the door panel. Are there 3 way components available as "kits" or do you typically have to piece together drivers and crossovers? Also I'm thinking that I mistakenly called what I want to add in the rear as "midbass". My idea was to augment the 13.5" subwoofer with a couple smaller ones located in the rear doors for space management reasons(I don't want anything under the rear seat).

Yes, you can get 3-way kits. A lot of companies have them. If you don't mind doing a little work, you may be able to fit an 8" midbass driver in those front doors. We did it with a DLS kit to my friends car.

With the 3-ways, you can go with the provided x-overs or go all active.

Don't worry about adding anything to the 13" sub until you have the whole thing up and running. If it's not working out, then change the midbass door driver. The more speakers you add, the more complicated it gets to tune right.

Anyways, I think you're now heading in the right direction with your plan !!!

Anyone have experience with JL's C5-653 3 way component set?

The other thing I'm looking at is amplifiers, I found a 500/5 for sale that would pretty much power the whole setup (except the TW5) IF I went with more subs in the back. I am afraid of just upgrading the fronts with something like a 300 watt 2 channel amp an then wanting to add more after the fact and having to buy another amp. I'd also like to only have to strip out the carpet to install wiring once, and I wouldn't want to waste my money on wiring that wouldn't be used to "future proof" my install if I decide against expanding the system. I guess I just have to make a choice and live with whatever troubles happen down the road. Lol. Thanks for all of the help so far :-)

Why only JL Audio? There is a whole world of audio equipment out there to consider. Want good sound, consider Morel for speakers. Morel Loudspeakers and these will take you to places in sound that JL Audio, while they are good speakers, cannot take you to. The number of ways in a speaker does not mean that they are necessarily better either. Personally I like rear fill in my vehicles and I would put a respectable speaker back there. I am 15 years past the days of turning the volume control up to maximum, thus the suggestion above that it is for the purpose of getting louder does not apply to me. I like rear speakers and the fill that they give. I like a nice balance of sound that if done properly will deliver the results that you seek. Too many guys are set of huge amplifiers to do the job these days, 20 years ago huge power was really not available yet we all had great sounding cars that played plenty loud enough.
