Please help me choose my components, 3 sets.

Hey guys I"m new to car audio, I want to upgrade to 5.25 components, and I've narrowed it down to 3.

I am looking to buy them from www.sonicelectronix.com, if anyone knows any better sites please state.

The speakers are...

Focal 130 V1
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7890_Focal+130+V1.html

Diamond Audio D651A
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7862_Diamond+Audio+D651A.html

Alpine SPR-13S
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8826_Alpine+SPR-13S.html

I really like to Alpines, since I will be using an alpine amp to power teh components, and also my head unit is Alpine.

So please let me knwo what you think is the best setup I should go with, I've heard good things about Focal's along with Diamond Audio. I'm really stuck on this one I dont care about teh price range difference I just want very good sounding speakers.

Thanks to all.

Sadly I've only heard the Alpine speakers. See if you can have a listen to them anywhere local, whether one shop has all three or not. Try to recreate the environment of your car, such as listening offset a few feet or just listening to one driver (rather than in stereo) at a time. I didn't like the Alpine speaker though because it sounded really hollow for the mids at any sort of offset angle, and that was in near best conditions in the showroom of my nearest Visions/Sound Advice. Instead I ended up shelling a few hundred for a polk set, and ive been pretty dang happy with them since.

yea, thanks guys, I've also heard that Focal's are teh best in teh business, but I dont know about this certain brand that I've included in teh list, they seem a little too cheap compared to teh rest of the focals out there. And also I think I am very limited to what I can put in simply because most component sets come in the 6.5" range which will not work out for me due to my door depth.

Dude, your PM box is full. Do you have a budget on new speakers? What vehicle are the speakers for. Are the speakers going to be amplified?

Hey sorry just emptied the mail box, speakers are going into a 95 Mercedes, I'd like to spend around the 180-250 max range, and yes I will amplify the components with an Alpine 2 channal amp which was designed for speakers only.

Hey guys, I'm still trying to debate between the focal's and diamond's.

Does anyone have either of these installed, what do they sound like?
