It looks like I've been burned. I bought a used US Acoustics (USX 4085) Amp and the output channels 3 & 4 have a nasty "static" type noise even when the RCA's are only plugged into channels 1 & 2. It seems to go away when the lowpass filter is on for channels 1 & 2. So I think this noise is coming from the amp itself.

I need a 4 channel amp 50W to 100W @ 4ohms. I have in mind an MTX but what about MB Quart (Discus) or Power Acuostik. Any opinions on the last 2 or any other suggestions.

I just need decent sound for my 40min drive to and from work every day.

About $150, for something new. Seriously, no laughing. This will most likely be coming from the US. There's a couple stores caring these brands for $110 - $150 with shipping an extra $30 bucks (brokerage included).

 

I have a used Alpine 4 channel in stock that I will stand behind for 90 days of warranty. It came out of a friends vehicle when he upgraded. It is here on consignment. The only way I have a consignment in my store is when I know the product and I know the customer. New I have a deal on a Soundstream LW4.500 right now that is hitting $200 + tax / shipping. This amp is priced almost below normal dealer cost right now. I have a couple left in stock.

 

Any specs or model number on the alpine? Whats the price on it? Do you have a ballpark on shipping to Langley?

 

Shipping to you can't be more than $18.00, if it is, I will cover the balance even though the amp is not mine. The customer was actually just in the store 10 minutes ago to check to see if we still had it. It is the MRPF250.

"For now" means I rewired it last night and that static problem seemed to have disappeared as those channels now feed a pair 0f 3.5's with the HPF set as high as possible (200hz i think) on the amp. I reused a jbl P180.2 I had for the rears. I'll drive to work for the next couple weeks and see if the amps can last a little longer.
