port firing into strut tower, bad?
im wondering are there disadvantages to having the port on the side of the box? the port would be a inch or 2 away from the rear strut tower....
im trying to come up with a box design for my 15s and i can only go 34" wide so im left with 2.25"(wide) port that i could fit on the front of the box but its to small and making my tuning below 25 |
Seen one of Yuli's designs port firing right up close to the strut towers. Likely a lil more than 2" though. Maybe 3 -5"... :dunno:

Loads???
I think a 2" gap between the port in your car is far to small though |
interesting, well i guess ill do a side port and see how it works out

have you considered aero ports?
and what are your other dimensions you can use? 34widex__heightx__long? |
dont tink aero ports will work on the front of the box with hte subs, i looked into them before and the ones i looked at where 6.5"s wide
34x15.5x23 i have more info in this thread below, http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/onli...ggestions.html |
have you seen my design for duel 15's in a trunk? lol!! ;)
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...Untitled-6.jpg wait you only have 5.66 net before sub and port displacement? so 5.2cubic after sub displacement then you have to factor in port displacement. so you will you be starving these subs for air (space)??? |
o wow you do have tiny trunk lol! maybe you should have went with 12's?
