PPI EQs

Ok so I haven't played around so much with PPI EQs - blame it on the lousy local dealer not being able to sell worth a damn.
Any way... PPI EQ31 vs. DEQ230. Yeah they're different shapes and whatnot but is one significantly preferred over the other. Any issues similar to AC EQs and the constant whine they build in or anything?
Just looking for some feedback on these.

we used two of the EQ31's in the Avenger, I wouldn't rate it better than the DEQ230 but it was cheaper and did the job.
I have also used a few AC peices over the years and never had any Whine problems either.
I have a friend in the states that might sell a few of his DEQ230's he just had them chromed so I'm not sure how much he'd want for them.

I have the DEQ230… overall a very nice piece. Flexible easy to install nice RJ-45 connections. Very low noise floor, no alternator whine! A musical piece but it did roll off the HF a bit once it is in the system. I don’t know how it measures up to the high end stuff (Adams standards) but it was as good an EQ as I have heard this side of a Cello pallette (I didn’t throw it out, but I am not using it in other words).

My AC EQX was a big whiner, and I needed to do A LOT of EQ to balance the sound. The system needed a lot less EQ with the PPI in the system so I think that indicates it was les intrusive than the EQX. I literally gave away the EQX after hearing the PPI
