How would go about making an amprack that would go in place of your back seat. In my car, chevette/pontiac acadian (whatevere you want to call it..) the back seat folds down. I never used the back seat of my car and I would like to maybe this summer put an amprack where the back seat is.

Rob, I know you have done this with your CRX. Could you give me some advice, tips or pointers, as well as anyone else?

You can check out tim Ballies accord.. http://www./Accord_folder...ord_stereo.htm

Thats assuming you want it to match the factory upolstry. If you dont, then finishing it is easier.

I built something similar (but for processors) in my car..

Basically its a square box similar to other racks.. with a "L" shaped cover sitting on top.

Like its a hatchback car and I dont care about the back seat. So as long as i can mount my amps there, I will be happy.

I had my amp secured to my stroker box when I had my Omni. I didn't want to bother putting them on the back seat....sack beat. rofl

A simple soluting is to take a piece of MDF Carpet it attach it to the back of your seats and mount your amps on that. Not nearly as fancy but looks clean and keeps them off the trunck floor.

Zach as u know my backseat DOESNT fold down lol n i haven't MADE it fold down unwillingly yet lol BUT I took a piece of wood n bolted it to the back framez of the seat workz good for cooling too as the 'future shop' 'expert' said becuz of the style of amp the heat flowz through the syncz up n down so what a great idea to mount it that way too! lol If u have any troublez bring it with u in the summer n we'll take a look. Final Product, n yes i was lazy enough to 'lay' in the trunk n paint that in 30° weather lol

U can also just bolt it on the backof the seat or a smarter choice is to mount it ontop of wood on top of that seat to be on the safe side.

My RF amp manual recommended it NOT be installed anywhere over 45 degrees tilted, due to problems dissapating heat....

Is this true?
Is this logical?
