On future shop's web site there is a pioneer woofer TS-W29C. What is this woofer? I went to Pioneer's web-site and the woofer was not there? I also search the net for the thiele small stuff and I couldn't find it anywhere! Anyway, I am comparing it with the TS-W255C and I want to now the differences between the two. So, if you know of the product, could you please post or send me the Thiele small parameters (QTS, QMS, QES, VAS, FS in particular if not all of them). Thanks

You don't want it, stick with the 255.

^ lol - call a spade a spade...

I'd rather have the Road Thunder....

DWVW, Okay . . . why?

Dukk - You'd pick road thunder over the w29c or you'd pick the road thunder over either pioneer?

My situation:

1.22^3 box. I would like to port it, likely bringing the box volume down to 1 cube. It is a home theatre set up (I bought the SUB-100 from Solen). I like the box and don't want to build a new one - good size that fits well into my room with decor size etc.

But my old Cerwin Vega sounds weak in that box, and I want something that will hit good and low in that box, something that will do justice to freigt-trains, thunder etc. But I also want to keep it around $100. I don't need much power handling, that sub amp only puts out 150WRMS into 4 ohm. I've been playing with WinISD trying to find my best option for that price range. So what would be my best option?

The 29C was brought in for the labour day sale or something. we were selling them 2 for $99 for tens or 2 for $119 for twelves. At those prices I "might" consider a pair, but they are no where near the 255's, which I consider one of the best entry level subs for $100.

So here are my options:
MTX RT 1004
SONY XS-L1000B
Pioneer TS-W255C
Rockford RFZ 2410

The Rockford looks ugly on WinISD and to get it to sound good it wants like 13^3

The Pioneer looks good so far.

The MTX and SONY I have not found any thiele specs for.

Any other suggestions? I can make an 8" or 12" work, but 10 is the easiest.

Maltesechicken, what is the box tuned to, do you have the port dimensions? I had a couple of those MTX Road Thunder 10's, they are crappy. I couldn't find any specs for the Sony either. The RF site recommends that the RFZ 2410 go in 1 cubice foot, tuned to 35hz. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ez2/f...oofers_MAN.pdf

It's a promo "2 for 1" woofer that usually come out for fliers, tent sales, and big holiday sales. They are made for a specific price point (not sure what that would be up north, but alot try to get in for the 2 for $99 area).

So, the 255 it is then?

Jeepbeats, Yup, I know that RF says for a 1 cube tuned to 35hz. But that graph is plain ugly. If you have WinISD, I will post the thiele small and you can plug it in and see for yourself.
