Questions: RE XXX 6.5" Mids
#1
Hey guys,
I have a few questions about RE XX 6.5" mids:
1.) Would they be good for me if I can't have any subs in my trunk? Would a pair of XXX 6.5's sound like I have a small 10" sub or something? Can they play low tones to make up for my lack of a sub?
2.) Does anyone know the mounting depth?
3.) Are they OK to run infinite baffle in my rear doors if I seal them up nicely with Brown Bread?
4.) What is a decent price to pay for a pair of these?
5.) Does anyone know their specifications?
Thanks!
Bryan

1 - they are midbass drivers not subs, you will get some thump but they will require quite the enclosure to equal a sealed 10"
2 - 3 5/8"
3 - Yes, but they won't sound like a 10"
4 - ~$200US
5 - 6.5" midbass driver, low distortion design, Rubber surround, Foam core poly cone, Cast alluminium basket, FEA optimised motor structure, XBL^2 motor technology*, High linearity nomex spider, Extreme excursion (13mm linear one-way). Suits IB (Free-air), sealed boxes or vented boxes of 8 to 18 litters tuned below 40 Hz.
Specs for the XXX 6.5:
RE: 1.75 Ohms
Fs: 47.4 Hz
Qms: 2.33
Qes: 0.59
Qts: 0.473
Mms: 15.04 g
Cms: 7.505E-04
Vas: 21.49 ltr
1- way Xmax: 13mm linear (verified via Klippel)
Le: 0.14mH
Bl: 3.636 t/m
Power: 150wrms
Spl: 87.75 dB 1W/1m
176.5mm (6.9") overall diameter
95 mm (3.74") depth
147mm (5.8") cutout
I hope that helps.

Thanks Jon! That certainly does help
I just bought a brand-new pair on impulse from a guy in the States for $180USD + shipping. I guess it isn't too bad of a deal. I can't wait to see how they perform . . . 13mm XMax on a 6.5" woofer is awesome
Regards,
Bryan

I tried making kick pannels in my truck, but because of the diameter and depth and the fact my truck is standard, there isn't enough room for decent imaging.
Oh and they are 6.9" mids... custom grills only
