Steve, if you're basing your poll (and judgement) on the last thread I read about the Sundown prototype, don't waste your time and energy.
If you believe in the Sundown product as others do, then stick to your ideals, and let the product speak for itself. Keep folks updated on the evolution of it/them and at the end, post the manufactures specs. Its only then when the boys will get separated from the men...
Best regards,
Mark

I still think the sundown amps look nice. But basing your business decisions from people on a forum isnt always the wisest thing to do.
We've talked many times Steve, you know my oppinion. I think you have a good thing going with your current business, as you said you want to tweak some stuff, go for it!
Anyhow, whatever you decide, i look forward to seeing it

I think it's great for more companies to be coming out, they could come out with something great, and for a really fair price. And that will push the mainstream companies to lower their prices as well, and make it cheaper and more affordable. And more fun for the rest of us.

A new company needs to bring something new to the table or like it has been said it will just get replaced by the next "hot company of the month".
Look at how RE, Adire, and ED made their start; While the mainstream companies were offering their top of the line drivers as the RF HE2 or the Kicker L7 we had RE offering the XXX and Adire the Brahma and ED the SP series which were drivers the mainstream companies had nothing to compare against. It gave consumers something to look at and then choose to take the chance on the new company as it had something to offer the mainstream didn't.
ED had their K-series drivers performing great both on the street and in the lanes at a very affordable pricetag that made people choose them over something like a HX2 which cost more and offered less performance. People took notice.
ED brought out the A-series. Not the best light for ED goes as far as broken drivers goes but its pretty hard to argue that they were not some of the best sounding subs of their time.
So IMO for a new company these days to survive for more than a couple months they need to bring something new to the table.
Personally I would love to see some nice big class AB amps stripped down of all processing. Just like in the good old days of a Orion 2250SX or a US Amps 1000X. Just a thought.

One of the major things that I like about small companies is that they take the time to help and work with their customers rather just push the product purly for cash. They give a about how their products are performing and whether or not their customers are getting what they want for their money.
For example, I have emailed Scott (Fi) with probably a dozen questions. He has made recommendations that make sense for my application rather then just pushing the highest price item. He has taken the time to talk to me on many occations though I am not yet his customer. That says alot. I know for a fact that I cannot go talk to the owner or designer at RF and ask him about his subs and reccommendations for them.
As for Sundown, I have alot of respect for Jacob, he is a very good person who is making high quality equipment. And i know that it is not the price of a Hifonics, but you are paying for the quality and support. And really, they are no higher priced then any other quality amp on the market...

Are you sure about that? Maybe you just don't know who to talk to. RF may be a large corporation but I've met many of those people and 'know for a fact' that they would take your call and actually care about what they recommend you. They're some pretty down to earth guys.

Well, I cant say I know about RF. I do know about Pioneer and Kicker as a local shop a friend worked at tried to get in contact with people there and were just forwarded to voicemails and recieved no calls back...
