hey...
i have a set of rockford fosgate braded RCA cables but when i pulled it out from behined my deck the other day one of the brades came out...
are the still useable...?
will this affect the quilty from my subs...

The wire came out of the connecting head (it's late) ? Probably not the easiest fix in the world, but it's doable ...

I never actually had to repair an RCA before, though [img]tongue.gif[/img]

yes one of the braded ends came out of the connecting head!

when i looked at it thought the end had a little pin size hole but there was no wire coming out!

im a newb plz help!

IIRC the cable you are using has 3 black "wires" braided for each side correct? Unscrew the RCA and and make sure that the other two wires are still soldered to the pin and the shield.

What I suspect is that the 3rd "wire" which is really just a dummy run of plastic tubing so they can actually braid the cable came out of the end. weave it back into the other two and shove it in the back of the barrel. A spot of CA or a small tie strap will keep it there.

IF in fact a conductor broke then it will need to be resoldered in place.

ya its the black braided one and yes the other two are both soldered ion the pin still.

thats what i thought it was too just making sure..
