rca patch cable and speaker selection

Ok so first post so please don't flame on my noobness , recently picked up a mb quart dsc450 for my express van ($40 NIB) still still shopping around on components, so while I do that I'm going to start running most of my wires to get ready for whenever i find the right speakers

I'm planning to build my own rca patch cables, and I want to use shielded wire to prevent any EMF from degrading the signal, is it actually worth it or am I thinking overkill for this?

As for the speakers I am planning to do a 2 way crossover setup on all 4 channels but cannot decide what to get, not sure I want to go the route of a 50w 4Ohm setup or a 100w 2 ohm setup, just want a good sound for a reasonable price, power requirements aren't too much of an issue there is a 130 A alternator powering the van and I know it'll give the juice to the amp, just I want some efficient and decent.

regards!

in the automotive environment twisted pair is probably the best solution for any EMI issues as coax or shielded is really designed for RFI (radio freq) protection and is pretty useless for low freq or DC fields. frankly if you run the wires with what you obviously already know you will probably avoid any issues.
