RE SX 15 or DD9515e

RE SX 15 or DD9515e
I've already got an RE SX 15 (2ohm dvc) on order, but now I see Drew has his DD9515e (0.5 ohm dvc) for sale.
I'm now thinking of cancelling my RE SX order and buying Drew's.
I'll be running either sub with a Hifonics BX1500D @ 1 ohm.
Which sub would you guys prefer for daily running in an 88' Cobra. I'll be running the sub in a sealed box or a smaller ported due to size restraints.
Also which box would you go with, a sealed or a smaller ported?
Thanks>

I have a question about DD... what is the linear cone travil on those things like ???
I've only heard them myself in a handfull of SPL applications... but Ive read opinions that say they are a good SQL woofer...
It would seem to me that a sub specifically made for SPL probably isn't the best for SQ.... like do most of them use a shorting ring or what ?
Just wondering....

The 9515 is NOT a dedicated spl woofer. It just so happens to perform well and take massive loads of power. If you want a dedicated spl woofer, look at the 9900 series.
from the website:
" The 9500 "f" Series might be the ultimate woofer, hand assembled to the tightest tolerances in order to reproduce music as exact as possible, at whatever volume level you desire. "

Drew the Hifonics are definitely over rated, but I've heard somewhere near 1100-1200 rms shouldn't be too far off for a 1500. I also realize the box choices make for a harder decision for these subs. I want it to be loud but also some SQ.

Well like Drew said I owned that sub before him. Personally I have never had a better street beatin sub in my old car. This is what I had it in and I felt it didn't lack a thing for output.
Car was a 90 Z24, box was only 2.3 cu/ft net tunned to 36 Hz, sub and ports all pointing up, feeding it about 2000 rms. Now I never even burped that sub, but I did throw the Term Lab in there while playing music, hit a 143 dB even. In that box the low notes still would make you shi+ your pants. I would only emagine they would improve with a bigger box, say 3-4 cu/ft, but for me I needed aleast a little trunck space.
As for anyone who thinks the 9500 series is only a SPL sub they are wrong. Please read the description on the DD website. http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/w...p?series=9500f
Nowhere does it even mention SPL. It is a sub that is over designed for durability, musical accuracy, overall quality, and to do it all a volumes that can make you bleed. Say the 9500 wasn't as loud as it is, and was less common in SPL competition, but still sounded the same, would that make it a SQ sub?
I would say get the DD from Drew, because IMO it is a much better sub than the SX (have had experience with). Even with your amp it will put-out, and it leaves room for upgrades. That sub is still new I only used it for 2 months max, and it is 50% less than it cost new.
