really quick easy question
My Kicker S15L7
vs
2 Alpine Type R 12's
Will the Type R 12s pound more (more SPL) than my one fifteen?
will be powered by my RF 700s (prolly like close to 800rms)
i will most likely be dropping them in a ported box.

surface area of 2 12s is 226.2
surface area of my 15 is 225
what is the Xmax on the type r's and of my L7?
im guessing in the end the spl pretty much will depend on which has greater Xmax

PVC ports are louder. I can vouch for that.
Just keep in mind that its a lot easier to make 2 subs loud than it is to make one sub loud by reaming the hell out of it.
The 2 will most likely be louder and also sound much better (solos sound terrible--educated opinion)
just be sure to do a damn good job on the box. The install does most of the work if build correctly.

so the two type r's can get louder than my 15 for sure?
the Xmax on my the L7 is 16.3mm and 13.3mm on the Type R's
i know for sure that the type R's will sound better. but will they also get louder?
