Reasons why not to get anything installed by Futureshop
If you buy anything from Futureshop, don't get them to install anything! They do the work too fast and take shortcuts. I have prime examples here.
1. They just used but-connectors on the harness (They should solder).
2. They put the crossover in the bottom inside my doors, and used a wire strap around it. WHY WOULD YOU PUT A CROSSOVER IN THE BOTTON OF THE DOOR???.
3. When having an amp installed, they ran the power wire with the RCA's, another shortcut and completly wrong!.
4. The left the inline fuse dangling near the battery, without even trying to hold it anywheres.
5. They didn't put some parts of the dash back together right, because they go too fast so they can get the next customer in the bay.
6. They scratched up my dash.
And chances are, there installers are not certified for anything

To address your issues individually:
1) Crimping is standard practice across the industry. Did you ask for solder? Most guys will do it if you ask - and some don't even charge extra.
2) Did you ask and pay for new wiring ran into the doors so your crossovers could be in the cabin? I doubt it. While I don't agree with putting a crossover in a door, it's not the end of the world if done correctly.
3) I have yet to ever see this actually cause a problem. This is probably 70/30 an industry common practice. Would you pay $90 instead of $60 for that amp install to have the wires separated?
4) Yeah, that's flat out bunk not securing the fuseholder. I often make custom mounts for fuseholders if the car needs it. No charge either.
5 and 6) These are wrong and generally uncommon for any shop. I'd speak to the lead installer and get your dash fixed.
So there you go - half of your beefs are common practice, the other half legitimate but IMO uncommon for most installs.
Also, FS is the only outfit I know of that offered company wide MECP testing..

I asked him why he ran the rca's with the power. And the guy basically ignored me, because he knew it's the wrong thing to do. It caused my alternator to whine and he said (Oh you must have bad ground somewheres). I told him I didn't have that problem before.
The crossovers were mounted in the bottom of my doors, it casued the + and - post to all rust, and the wires were rusting too.
The whole thing just seems so un-professional to me. Would they do all this crap at a "Professional shop" Futureshop say they have professional installers but I think that's a load of . I've heard lots of complaints from them because of there sloppy installation work.

heres the deal. you really do get what you pay for if the little things make a big difference to you then go to a local shop.and for the love of god dont go in and say i got this super awsome deal...... and just want you to put it all in. Dont expect people to do work for nothing or cheap..... im sorry im going on a bit of a tangent but there are way too many kids out there who cut corners on there own cars and regret it in the end.
btw how much did you pay to have this all installed ?

methodman0666 I got everying installed at different times because I kept upgrading stuff. But it was most likely over 200 for all the stuff they did. And they just rush through everything as fast as possible to get the next car in the bay.

it's true what one of the other guy's said before, you get what you pay for. I work at futre shop and if you ask us to soder most of the guys will. only some of the guys use but connectors becasue they fall of if not done properly. the rca's isn't a big deal to be run with the power as long as the rca's are for subs. You can't hear the noise in them. As for the alternator wine it could be coming from the new deck you installed. Pioneers for example allow more noise than others. Most people come in and want there stuff installed for free, and have it done in five minutes. If you want things done properly be prepared to pay for it, and that it's going to take some time to get done! It's unfortunate that you had a bad experience, but I would think that can happen any where not just futureshop. The quality of the install is dependent on the installer, not where he/she works.

that's one option. most good installers take pride in there owrk and want the job done right the first time. It's also usually better if you install everything at once reducing the chance of stuff breaking from repeatedly being taken apart and put together again.
