Recommendations for a deck to play ipods, etc.
I just recently bought an 02 Protege that still has the stock deck and I'm sick of my iTrip sounding like crap all the time.
I'm looking for a basic deck that can play ipods or just use a straight up 1/8" auxiliary connection. I've played around with a buddy's deck that actually docks to his ipod but he has to choose all the music from the deck which is a huge hassle.
What should I be looking for? Is the 1/8" connection my best bet? I'm not looking to spend too much, under $150 and ideally under $100 if that is at all possible.

Almost all JVC decks have front and some have rear aux in. U should be able to find one with USB input in your budget. It will get cleaner digital music into the deck which eliminates using multiple DACs and will keep your iPod charged. With the JVCs u can choose to use the controls on the deck or the iPod itself for searches. Just remember that an iPod is considered a handheld device and u can get a ticket in most (if not all) provinces for using it while driving.
