Hey guys, I’m almost done refinishing my MMATS LM2075 amp. Here are some pics up until this point...

Pretty scratched up

Sanded it down

I repainted it metallic silver w/ clear coat (stupid of me)

I then decided to strip it down to the aluminum and buff / polish it. Here I am sandblasting that ****

Here's the amp after sandblasting.. It’s looking much nicer, plus it will now dissipate heat better as well.

Here it is after some sanding 300 - 1500 grit. I also painted between the fins since I like the look of it. I still need to buff / polish.

My question is should I leave the fins black or sand the top of them down so that there silver in color?

I love how it's the same colour underneath as you painted it before... sounds like something i would do. I think sanding the tops of the fins and leaving the crevaces black would look sweet.

my buddy just got a kicker amp and it has some chips in it. What would be the best way to refinish it? I dont know where I could find access to a sandblasting machine and im thinking he would want the amp painted a glossy black or atleast have that be the color.

Any ideas?

Pridefcf: Naw, I haven’t installed it yet although I tried it out, although I still have to get the missing screw from MMATS as well as the others since there pretty worn out. As for how much id charge would depend on what you need done, ect..

Kriston: Thanks bud, ill show you my "bling bling" ride when I got it all set up.

Deyton: Haha, yeah… I thought about it one day and decided to strip it down to the metal for better heat dissipation as well as looking puurrrdy.

bing: I don’t know, I guess it depends on what you have as well as what you want to be done.

scarlemthug: Well.. you can always get an Auto Body shop to do it, although I got quoted $60 to sandblast my amp. Where is your buddy located? If he’s in the Mississauga / Brampton area I can do it for him. If the chips are small he can probably just get some touchup paint (hobby paint w/ brush) and just fill in the scratches.

JeepBeats, Blu: Thanks, will do

abnormal72: Thanks man, I have another amp but it’s a Rockford Fosgate bd1000.1 so I cant really make them match
