REM wire fuse

Is 1.5A fuse good for the REM wire? Do I fuse it behind the HU or @ the amp or does it make a difference? The REM wire I have is 18ga and the inline fuse holder is 12ga is that ok?

Cool. Thanks!

I also picked up an AGU holder for the power wire but when I tried a 60 and 80 amp fuse, neither of them fit snug inside the holder. They are the right width but there's about 1/4" space at the end where the fuse just slides back and forth. I assume it's 1" fuse and the holder needs 1.5" can I use the 1" fuse and just add some solder on the end so it fits snug? Or where can I get the 1.5"?? I tried 4 diff places today and no one had 40 amp fuses!!

Apparently I got a POS fuse holder because why don't these 1 1/2" fuses fit snug?? there's a 1/4" when the fuse is in that it slides back and forth in the holder. I'm so tired of searching for in this city SARNIA

is it th length or the thickness or the fuse that isn't working for you?...agu's are generally a pressure fit and should be snug

It's the length. The fuses are standard 1 1/2" and the holder I have leaves about 1/4" on the end once the holder is tightened up. There's no way to tighten it anymore and the fuse just slides around inside. I'm so fedup with this city and finding stuff I need that actually WORKS

I'm going to order this holder; http://knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=FH-20

But in the meantime, I was just going to use the cheap *** AGU holders til I found the fuse doesn't even fit properly.

Yeah, it's been frustrating. I guess I'll just have to wait for shipping so I can do a proper install! Cheers

dude, Sarnia has:

St.Clair Stereo
Keelan's Audio
Pure Power

They should have everything you need for installing..... and there is also a Futureshop not to mention a Princess auto too.....

As far as putting a fuse on the remore turn on lead... well it would only make sense to put it close to the deck.... but guess what you still don't need a fuse....

with a dead short to ground your deck will cut the power before the fuse blows... you would only need a fuse if you are running a relay with 12v from the batt going to your amps turn on terminal...
