Every manual transmission starter currently on the market will technically start when the vehicle is in gear, there is no direct way for the starter to know whether the car is in neutral or not. If you don't beleive me do the "ready mode" and leave the window down. Once the car is ready to be started, reach in the window and put the car in gear, now try remote starting it, I am not responsible for what happens next. That is why they all say "do not install on Jeeps and convertables."

even with the park brake on, most cars will still move when cranking. I had a "manual" safe starter fail and try to start in gear with the ebrake on, it jumped a sidewalk and hit a building. Ever hear of On Start? they have gone out of business about 4 times now.
