I've seen dozens of pairs in service.....they are sweet! Make sure you use an amp on them though.

I have enjoyed Rockfords 5x7 quite a bit, I felt it produced some of the most realistic vocals in a speaker that cost less than $800 a pair (but their mids and HF were strident) ... but that unit is much beefier. I am not sure it is the best at its price point... but as long as you comparison shop then you know you are getting the best speaker for you

The Rockford P400-4 (nice small footprint and only $349.00) would work well as would the T400-4.

Any mainstream brands 4 channel will work fine though.

just as a thought.....

Atomic's 3-way set can be had for $400 as well and you get a 6.5" a 3" and a 1" with a three way cross over....

I had a pair of 600 dollar set of rockford components, and was disgusted with the sound, absolutly horrible, they were the fnq's.. I would never recommend them to anyone.. Jl xr 650's are like 250 on ebay, you will be hard pressed to find better for the money IMO..
