sealed or ported
Trust your ears
It seems to me that at least once a month the same debate goes on .
Why can't some of you simply use the gift bestowed on you, your own ears?
50% of the people can't be wrong or right, which 50% do you prefer?
There are so many variables in each particular case, that for any of us "gurus", to try and come up with a "perfect solution" is impossible.

Sadly IECS is far too common these days
Hey, I'm no so much arguing one design or the other even though it is no secret that I generally prefer a vented enclosure. Out of nowhere Mike brought up the Carver MagikBox'o'Bunk and I offered my experience with it.

as far as balancing cabin gain vs frequency response and from the standpoint of group delay sealed is pretty much ideal for car audio from a SQ point of view.... (although you should definatly look for mid/high EBP woofers or you may mess up phase response -if that really matters to you- )
my personal preference would be ported low for extended freq response and a group delay curve that dosen't matter anyway....

Ha, Ha ROFL that was a good one
So, are you saying that because it is expensive it is not good?
Seriously we can agree to disagree -- I do still find it amusing how every major home speaker building uses it as a template, yet it is not any good.
