AHEM.... i think this is almost breaking the "no arguement rule" that the author of this thread enstated on the first post...

anywho ive only ever had sealed boxes but ive heard many ported boxes i will say in my opion that i think ported is louder but i like the sound of the bass from a well made sealed box tho so i dont kno..... i think im gonna try a well made ported box on my next setup...

I USED to say a properly ported box would be louder but a Pioneer truck proved me wrong

There's nothing wrong with a good bandpass. They offer a couple of unique advantages to other box designs. The problem comes in building a good bandpass and having the support gear for it.
