I have ordered a few things from Select and the shipping is very fast. I wouldn't hesitate to order form them, although their prices are kind of high on some stuff. As for stuff that can't egt across the border easily, like fiberglas supplies there are places in Canada that have better prices anyways.

For carbon fibre the cheapest place to go is an avaition supply store. You should also be able to get Kevlar as well, well equiped stores can cut the stuff for you since you need special tools.
Fabric like grille cloth and carpeting can be obtained from most fabric shops with some specialty stuff, there is one here in Winnipeg but can't remember the name.
Check bearing supply shops, Princess Auto, and electrical supply shops for metal and plastic sliding rail and open flex conduit for wiring as well as actuators. I've found Kinekor a pretty good place for sliding rails of most weight/stroke.
