Ok thats for the gen 3 sho with a v8. That was a totaly different car. The 89-95 had a yamaha racing engine in that made 220 hp and did 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. The 5 speeds had a 3.0 and the auto had a 3.2. It won car and drivers car of the year award in 1990. And the engine it self actually makes 300hp but ford made yamaha slow it up by a junk exhaust, ecu, and intake. Because it was blowing the doors off there gt's. SO it wasnt just a bumper as the one smart guy said. My car as it sits right now makes 305 whp without n2o so if any of you guys in your cars wanna come see me please do. And they never made a contour sho that was a contour svt witch had nothing to do with yamaha. So before you open your mouth do your research. Oh and the sho was faster and nicer then the bmw 528 in 89. Plus cost under 20 grand.

So whats the point of this post
My wife's car is a 99 mercury sable with 3.0L and 24v ovhd.
and the transmission is f&&ked and steering rack is f**ked and it's sitting in the drivway leaking sh%t, waiting to be towed away.
And that's the cousin of the SHO.

Which tranny does you wife's have? I agree their racks suck, unless you change the filter which most people don't even know exists...
