their low end models...nothing special at that price, but not a bad deal. Personally, I'd shop around for a special on a 6x9 from a good brand name like rf, jbl, alpine, kenwood, pioneer, etc... that has dome tweeters..those mylar tweets on that unit are cheap and tend to be harsh sounding. I haven't heard those in particular though, so this is just from general experience.

Low end models? LOL did you look at the deck he is running? Might as well use em as I don't think the SQ from that deck is going to be affected much by the speakers he uses.

wow, if i wanted comments a person expects to hear from a 12 year old i would have asked one.
and the speakers sound really good just to let you know, installed them yesterday.
with the stock speakers i could turn the volume up to 45 and still hear screaming.
with the rf's i can turn em up to 35 and hear loud, crisp, rumbling sound

Glad you like 'em......an amp, be it 25w/channel up to 150w/channel, will make them sound even better.....

Have fun with the new toys....

The SQ is still better than any "high end" tape deck that audiophiles use to use back in the day with uber expensive speakers...hell I was one of them. Believe it or not, the speakers make a huge difference even with a low fidelity source. Even the cheapest cd player is capable of way better specs than virtually any expensive analog player. Richard Clark even used a stock delco cd player to win a number of contests back in the day...I think it was in a bonneville. Anyway, the op asked about the speakers, so I like to stick to the topic and not s**t on his gear.

I was actually considering these same speakers. My girlfriend just bought a new Caliber, has the 30gig hard drive/DVD player, but base non-amped speakers which could use a little more detail. Might go for them.
Shes actually asking about a sub box too.

Is she starting to get the bug from you by chance?....

I knew the first time my wife wandered past the dishwashers into the car audio section at a Best Buy store some things were going to be easy......
