I notice now when you call 1888539sirius you automatically go to Sirius Canada instead of the head of sirius. Anyone done any activations in the last couple days? If someone activates a new account can they still do it the traditional grey market methong via sirius.com?

Now that CRTC has open the Canadian Market to Sat Radio you can only activate a Canadian Tuner on the Candian Programing. Sirius is being launched Nov 29, 2005 and Xfm is online now. From what I heard even if you try and activate a US tuner you will be tranfered back to Canada's version. You will need a US visa or master card if you still want the us version.

you can still get around canadian programming by subscribing online.

both toll free numbers redirect to canada.

XM canada will activate any hardware right now and there's an open invite to any current US subscribers to switch over.

How will the US ones be switched over? The Canadian hardware has a chip in the unit while the american one doesn't.

it's just like sat TV, they can block or allow channels based on ESN.
