mmmm...sweeeeeet woofer.

As for mounting depth ...The sub I have in there right now is an old MTX Thunder 4000 T4124 which has a mounting depth of almost 5.5" (and unfotunately very little excursion)...so I figure if i can keep it close to that I should be fine.

Check out Image Dynamics IDQ v2 series subs. The IDQ12 should work really well in an enclosure around 0.8cuft. It can work in a box as small as 0.55cuft.

Fantastic sounding subwoofers too IMO..

Can work and performs optimally are two different beasts. I would personally step down to a 10 if that is all the space you can give up. A 10 in that amount of room will outperform a 12 in general.

Casper137 02-26-2004 07:07 PM

Box is already done fit formed glassed carpeted and everything for a 12" ...so droppin down to a 10" isn't an option.

Orion_95 02-26-2004 07:13 PM

how does that saying go? Poor planning = piss poor performance?

Casper137 02-26-2004 07:35 PM

Ya well you can plan till the cows come home... I built with what products I had at the time and for what my budget would allow at the time ....now I'd like to build on what I have ...seems like a simple concept to me.

everyone has to start from somewhere.

We're not all born car audio geniuses.

Maybe a little constructive help next time eh Ty.

well if I were you I would try one of the Dynamics IDQ v2, or just stick with what you got, cuz there isnt any point wasting money on a sub just to have it sound like crap IMO...

Derek Jerome 02-26-2004 08:15 PM

here's a few that fit ............no idea on box sizes, figured you can look into that ................. the coustic's recomended enclosure is 1 cubic foot sealed.......... most 12" subs I looked at were too deep .....I'd upgrade the amp and see if that does it for you first.........
