So many brands for Capacitor, Which one to get?

So I am really thinking of getting a cap to fix the weird problem with electrical system. I've checked the battery and the alternator with a meter and they both seem normal.

I'm going to upgrade the wire under the hood and purchase a cap, You might all think cap's are useless but they might help me with my problem.

I see so many brands, I don't want something really expensive. Looking for something that is decent, The rest of my system is decent so I don't want to crap out on ANYTHING.

I believe I shouldn't need anything more than a 1.0 Farad. The lights dim also but not massively, But the wires under the hood are still stock and the big 3 would help that I believe.

So it's the big 3, Plus a cap. I'll need to get a power and ground distro block, But are ground/power combo distro blocks o.k to use?

caps are definitely not useless.

however they will be useless if your electrical cannot keep up already. they will simply create a bigger drain.

a farad is a farad so the amount of charge (joules) stored is a constant
the LONE variable is the dielectric material and since the manufacturers dont inform us of the construction material or of the rise (speed) of the capacitor I would say there is no definitive answer as they are probably all made by the same company in the same factory (just a guess).
SO buy the one that looks the best in your build or meets your budget (used should function about as well as new unless physically dented)

Very good explanation on that!

What about distro blocks that are power/ground combos instead of buying 2...

I would be useing 4WAG in to 8AWG out in probably a 6inch run.

You should have your electrical system checked out by a pro before you start throwing bandaids on it.
