SoloBaric L7 - 12" 2 or 4Oms?
Hi Folks,
Long time wasnt here - was busy getting M1 License ;-)
Finally back to 4wheelers, here am I on Ebay picking my SoloBaric L7. Going with 12". The selction of the brand and size has been decided with no changes to consider... Anyway, there are tow types 2Oms and 4Oms subs. Which one I have to pick. Price is the same.
I have no amp to match the beast. So, from my prospective should I opt for 2Oms amp + 2Oms mono sub, or go with 4Oms amp + 4Oms mono sub?
The head unit is 4Oms will go through Line Output Converter to the Sub.
Your ideas as always appreciated :-)

I'd choose an amp that you plan to buy before you buy the sub. This way you can get a sub with the proper coils to make optimum power out of the amp. So, I guess my question to you would be what amp did you have in mind to run the L7?

you can... but it wont work with the amp choice you have set on your mind.
dual 4 ohm sub = 8 ohms or 2 ohms final load
dual 2 ohm sub = 4 ohms or 1 ohm final load
your kicker amp isnt stable at 1 ohm so it would be ideal to get the dual 4 ohm L7 model
my suggestion is to lay off CCA until you sober up

Amp will only produce 350 watts @ a 4ohm load. I will produce 750 @ a 2 ohm load. This is why you should buy a dual 4 ohm sub and wire both coils and amp in parallel.
Basically wire all positives together, and all negatives together.
