$18.95 for a wiring harness! Now that is a RIP! You can pick one up at walmart for like $5!

Well, I got my Pioneer P8600MP for $230 shipped (in canada), traded a Canon SD600 (paid ~$250) for CDT CL-60CV's and a Kicker KX350.4 amp. So around $480. Got my deck install kit for $10 with free wiring harness (ebay, free shipping )

KDC-MP235 Headunit 199.00 installed
Fusion 572 5x7 Door Speakers 125.00 (15 per door to install) 155.00
Harness 18.95
Insert Kit 21.95
All plus tax.

I retract the ripped statment... its to strong a word to define this post. Over paying is what i mean.

and df.dima, ya ill use my smart words and check that out.

working at a shop I say you did well
average price around Toronto is
Kenwood 235 about 150 +50 to install it
harness + plate = 40
doors aprox 100 + 50 to install them
+tax

so really you're not far off of a fair priced professionally installed system
to you for keeping it to a local shop

Thanks for the replies and advice all. After more research and posts here you guys are right. I over reacted a bit with the online pricing etc. Ive decided to let them do the install considering the tech support, and warranty ill get. The owner is doing the install and by the looks at all the tropheys on the wall he might know what hes talking about.

Im back to happy mode. Thanks again.

BTW as an fyi, the other half of the system was priced at 484 installed price including wiring labour etc for...

A fusion amp to drive a 10"300w fusion sub, a custom box for my focus. All from the encounter line for 07 (im doing this on a budget)

Once again thanks guys... ill reply later with some pics and how i think it sounds compared to the stock stereo.

Thumbs up

It sounds like a good deal moneywise, if the installer/owner knows his stuff, you will be much happier with the sound than the stock setup.

Enjoy the tunes, and let us know what you think when it's done.....
