Hello all,

I'm considering buying a Sony XM-280GTX amp, so I was wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience with it.

It's pretty cheap for a 2x80W RMS @4 ohms amp, so I'm a little suspicious. It would be driving my front speakers, which are the most important, so I'd like to find out as much about it as I can before I buy it.

Thanks,
molo

Hey, I have not used this amp personally, but here are some reviews: http://www.cardomain.com/item/SONXM280GTX#reviews

Hope that helps. Buying it new? If so, extended warranty might be a good idea.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I actually did read those reviews before posting here, but they weren't exactly conclusive (one guy was like "this is a great amp", and another guy was like "this thing was less powerful than my HU").

So, I thought I would ask around here in case I can get some first hand info.

later,
molo
