Dynamat or any other mat types all work pretty similar. I've also used sound deadener that you roll or paint on like putty which worked fine too. There are usually some damn good deals to be had on this stuff on Ebay.

Always support the board sponsors if you can. If you can't...support your local stereo shops.

^ So pay waaay more for something out of your pocket when you could save a bunch of money? I am all for supporting sponsors on this board as most are fairly priced, but a lot of local shops down here sell their stuff way more than should even be considered reasonable. Most people can't afford to pay 100 dollars or more extra on stuff just to support stores. If you can get a deal, why would you pay more? That makes no sense at all.

No to get off topic, but I indeed think that some local shops are rip offs. I ordered my pg xenon 5.25 comps and xenon 100.2 off ebay for 275 canadian shipped (plus duties on arrival) and audio concepts here in town wanted 400 for the set off the demo board and 700 for the 100.2. Anyone else think there might be a wee bit of a differential?

^ Yeah, that is getting burned. That's all I meant. I mean if you can find a fair price or a shop were to charge a few bucks more than the net I would certainly buy from the shop, but most little locally owned stores around here take you for a ride. I bought two 12" Kicker XPL's in about 2000 for 270.00 each from a local shop here. And a Clarion deck that ran me about 700.00. 6 months later I saw the deck on Ebay for 250 and when you could still find XPL's I found them around online for like 80-100 dollars a piece. Yeah, I got ripped!

money in my pocket is always a good thing! I'll give you guys another example of big price difference; 2 Alpine typr r(new multi roll type) for 598.00 including taxes at a few GTA stores. Online I got them for 304.00 including exchange, duty, taxes, shipping, and broker charge, in canadian dollars.

Guys... just a fair warning here.. if this thread turns in to "online vs retail" it will be shutdown immediately.

Lets keep it on the subject of sound deadeners

Lightbulb

I used Brown Bread in my car. I have no complaints at all - worked great.

Having said that - I really want to try Hush Mat next time.

B-Quiet product, from what I have heard, works really well too, is less money than the main brands, is Canadian eh, and you can order it direct off their website for the same money as Ebay.

fair enough. I like brown bread as well, and it is well priced and very easy to work with compared to dynamat.
