hey guys, i was wondering how much sound deadner should i get to deaden the doors and just a bit of the roof, i know dynamat sells door kits but i was thinking maybe just buy a bit extra just in case, and also what brands are good besides dynamat?

and lastly how much/long would it take an installer to do it usually?

 

buy a box, the value pack or w/e its called, I can do 2 doors and a roof in a couple hours including prep time.
Brands that are good, you should look into the deadener showdowns. it explains it all there, no need to bring it back up

 

How can you deaden the roof without ruining the original liner? Or is that just one of those things SPL dudes don't care about ...
Honestly the roof in a daily driver is a little much. Unless I can make it look stock again or somehow buy a fabric ... I just don't see that as IDEAL

i have to put a good couple layers on my roof, i got annoying rattles near the windshield, so yes for a dd i think it is very ideal

yes, the roof makes a difference. best and easiest way to tell, tap your rooof, deaden it, tap again., it makes a HUGE difference..

 

What vehicle is it ?

 

maybe on some, mine you take off all the pillars and a couple xmas tree style push clips and take out the dome light and bam its out.

 

The worst part is on some vehicles you can get it off but its impossible to get it out of the vehicle, on less its a truck like mine sonoma extenda cab it easily slides out the door. The vans are easy because you can just open the back hatch and slide it out there, but in some vehicles its impossible to take it out without bending it or damaging it. Alot of vehicles in production they put the head liner in before they install the windsheild, which obviously make it easier.
