Sound Proofing..

Hello,

Sometime this week I plan on purchasing a component set for the front doors in my car. I've seen alot of people around here sound proofing that part of their car, more than other parts.

Just wondering, should I do it? What are the benefits? How do I install sound proofing material? Costs?

thanks.

should you?, yes, benefits, sound dampening will help create a tighter cleaner sound in the door cavity as it dampens virbrations and makes ur door a denser surface, less things virbating and loose equatees to better sound, just like securing a sub box properlly, cost can get up there using the proper brown bread or dynamat

www.bquiet.com

You can put some on the outside and on both inside sides.
Maybe 25sq foot to do that to a pair of typical doors.

You need to clean the door first and ensure it is dirt free and dry. Then cut the material to size, peel it, heat it a bit and stick it on ensuring that it is adhered properly.

If youre going to do it during summer time you don't even need to heat it.

Heat it and then stick it on, it goes on way easier. The small 12sq.ft door kit is enough to only do one layer in each door, sometimes it is not even enough. Buy the 50sq.ft. roll and then you have enough to do the job properly the first time around with enough left over to do your trunk. Combine a speaker and deadener order and I might be able to save some $$$ for you.
