LOC's are ok for subs in a mild system. Remember, you're converting an amplified signal from an oem deck, which are not known for their clarity. Add to that the excessive distortion as the volume climbs, and you get a shitty signal. I've used a few on factory premium systems (mach460 ford) for subs, and it worked quite well, but in most cases...you're better off changing the deck!

Does your factory radio have that feature where it turns the bass down at higher volume? If so, consider the new Re-Q piece from MTX. It is an LOC that autocorrects for that and it hasa full range plus a separate sub out and it generates a remote trigger wire too. Kinda neat but around $150.

My Clarion DXZ635MP's RCA Pre-Outs aren't working anymore, for some reason. Rather than fixing that/or buying a new deck, I thought I would try a LOC. Would it be a better signal since it's comming from an aftermarket source unit?
