See, I've got a 2003 Altima, and I don't want to have a huge delete plate in there, with a DIN opening. It would look retarded. I'm not going for any kind of competition system, I've never been a huge stereo guy. Just want some more bass from my car, but I'm picky enough, that I want it fairly clear.

Does your factory radio have that feature where it turns the bass down at higher volume? If so, consider the new Re-Q piece from MTX. It is an LOC that autocorrects for that and it hasa full range plus a separate sub out and it generates a remote trigger wire too. Kinda neat but around $150.

No, it doesn't turn the bass down at high volume. Just Nissan's standard Altima 2.5S system. I think the Maxima comes with a different stereo.

My Clarion DXZ635MP's RCA Pre-Outs aren't working anymore, for some reason. Rather than fixing that/or buying a new deck, I thought I would try a LOC. Would it be a better signal since it's comming from an aftermarket source unit?

I'll be using it to power speakers.
