I dont understand how it is that you would run away now with your recones...if it is the same guy doing them as before...

dave is still the speaker master....and is still there......i dont think i would trust anyone other than Dave to do my speaker recones.

so run away?.....no....run towards...as he is still there and is the same guy doing it....

I would suggest one run away from your cockeye'd advice -- I've heard about your quality DIY install -- you don't trust a shop because they told you that your install was douce and that they would have to rip it out and redo it for everything to work properly...since when is it a great idea to run wires across an amp??? What an Assclown, someone should take away your keyboard.

Recone

You might also try Vancouver Audio Clinic. 604-874-7893
David Lee has repaired more speakers than most folks in the
industry. Always a kind man and easy to deal with.

Talking

Dave Barnes is an awesome repairer of "dead" speakers.........if he cant fix it.........chances are no-one can.

I dont agree with anyone bashing anyone either.........if you dont like the store dont go........., but dont use this forum as a soapbox to stand on to bash someone........same goes for a shop bashing a customer.......I'm sure Kev did the best he could do. Although it could use a little TLC buddy.

People can make up their own minds as to whether they should deal with a shop or not........!! Speaker City has lots of customers both "old" and "new" that are quite happy dealing there..........if they were a crappy shop.......no-one would shop there !!

So...........to the original starter of this thread.........Yes, go to Speaker City and see Dave.......he is the best guy in town.

And who am I you might ask ?? Well I was the manager at Speaker City for almost 4-years, so I know that Dave is a great guy and wouldn't screw anyone.

Since Dave (either one *inside joke*) is the best in town for reconing, and speaker repair,modification,design.., and he works at Speaker City. And considering that the thread was in regards to speaker repair. Like GMoney I'd like to know, why attempt to tarnish a great reputation, because of an experience you may have had, that didn't go the way you wanted?
Would you at least make another positive suggestion to the person asking for help?
Yes, I also used to work at Speaker City, and I'm fameliar with everyone there, including the new owner. I can tell you that I know him to be genuinely fair for his clients and employees alike.
Many shops, including Speaker City, would welcome your suggestions, in order to improve the quality of whatever service they may provide.
So as a retail employee, I'd very much like to know what it was that made you decide to : A) dis-trust Speaker City as a store ? B) publicize your personal opinion in such a vague way, as not to have just cause?
I'd welcome a PM for the sake of personal pride.
