Hey guys. I'm running a Kenwood x-890 HU powering the stock speakers in my 2006 Toyota Matrix. When I listen at higher volumes for around 10 minutes, I notice the speakers begin to sound distorted and lose volume. If I leave them sit, they come back around and work fine. I'm thinking that maybe the voice coils are heating up but I have no idea. I was also thinking that I am possible dropping my voltage too low since the sub is also putting out at high volumes. What do you guys think is causing this?

I should add that I have actually had my deck shut off due to high voltage drop which makes me think that voltage might be the problem.

 

You're overheating the amp in the deck. It's time to add a fan behind it to move some air, move it to a spot away from the heater vents or where it can get more airflow, or switch to external power my friend. Had the same problem with my X569 I used to have and I had no voltage drop.
